Terms of service for using Snapgle

1. Acceptance of Terms

By installing, accessing, or using Snapgle's Website and Snapgle Chrome Extension and related services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and the operators of Snapgle's Website and Snapgle Chrome Extension ("Snapgle," "we," "us," or "our").

2. Description of Service

Snapgle is a Chrome browser extension that enables users to:

  • Capture text content, code snippets, and images from web pages
  • Choose which Google Doc to save captured content to
  • Save captured content directly to their selected Google Docs
  • Access captured content through their Google Docs

The Service is designed to enhance productivity and streamline the process of collecting web content for research, note-taking, and documentation purposes.

3. User Accounts and Registration

3.1 Account Creation

To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Update your information as necessary
  • Be responsible for all activities under your account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use

3.2 Google API Integration

The Service requires integration with your Google account to access Google APIs. By connecting your Google account, you:

  • Grant Snapgle permission to access your basic profile information (name and email)
  • Grant permission to create and modify Google Docs files
  • Grant permission to access Google Drive files that Snapgle creates or opens
  • Acknowledge that captured content will be saved directly to your Google Docs
  • Understand that you can revoke these permissions at any time through your Google account settings
  • Agree to comply with Google's Terms of Service

Note: We only access Google Drive files that Snapgle creates or that you explicitly choose to open with Snapgle. We do not have access to your other Google Drive files.

4. Acceptable Use Policy

4.1 Permitted Uses

You may use the Service for lawful purposes, including:

  • Personal research and note-taking
  • Educational and academic purposes
  • Professional documentation and information gathering
  • Legitimate business research

4.2 Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Violate any copyright, trademark, or intellectual property rights
  • Capture private, confidential, or sensitive information without authorization
  • Engage in systematic scraping or data harvesting for commercial purposes
  • Bypass website paywalls or access controls
  • Transmit malware, viruses, or harmful code

  • Infringe on the privacy rights of others
  • Use the Service for automated or bulk operations without permission

5. Intellectual Property Rights

5.1 Content Ownership

You retain ownership of content you capture using the Service. However, you are responsible for ensuring you have the right to capture and save such content. This includes:

  • Respecting copyright and intellectual property laws
  • Obtaining necessary permissions for proprietary content
  • Complying with website terms of service

5.2 Service Ownership

Snapgle and its licensors own all rights, title, and interest in the Service, including:

  • Software code and algorithms

  • Content is transferred directly to your Google Docs

7. Service Availability and Modifications

7.1 Service Availability

While we strive to provide reliable service, we do not guarantee:

  • Uninterrupted or error-free operation
  • Compatibility with all websites or browsers
  • Availability during maintenance periods

7.2 Service Modifications

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time. We will provide reasonable notice for significant changes that materially affect your use of the Service.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • Snapgle provides the Service "as is" without warranties of any kind
  • We disclaim all implied warranties including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose
  • Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim
  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
  • We are not responsible for data loss, corruption, or unauthorized access to your Google account

Important: Some jurisdictions do not allow limitation of implied warranties or liability for incidental damages, so these limitations may not apply to you.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Snapgle and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from:

  • Your use of the Service in violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any third-party rights, including intellectual property rights
  • Content you capture or save using the Service
  • Any negligent or wrongful conduct on your part

10. Termination

10.1 Termination by You

You may terminate your account at any time by:

  • Uninstalling the Chrome extension
  • Revoking Google account permissions
  • Contacting our support team to delete your account

10.2 Termination by Snapgle

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service for:

  • Violation of these Terms
  • Fraudulent or abusive behavior
  • Extended periods of inactivity
  • Legal or regulatory requirements

10.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination:

  • Your right to use the Service immediately ceases
  • We may delete your account information
  • Content already saved to your Google Docs remains unaffected
  • Sections of these Terms that should survive termination will continue to apply

11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

You may not assign these Terms without our written consent. We may assign these Terms without restriction.
